Porcelain Veneers:
Porcelain Veneers are thin sheets of porcelain, which are bonded on front teeth to improve the aesthetics of stained or misarranged teeth.
Teeth are slightly modified and an impression is taken. This impression is sent to a lab (similar to crowns and bridges) and the porcelain veneers are fabricated and bonded in place.

Crowns:
- When teeth have been broken or there is not enough remaining tooth structure to do a filling, a crown is often indicated as the best treatment.
- Crowns can be gold, porcelain fused to metal, or all-porcelain.
- Crown procedures are broken up into 2 appointments.
- At the first appointment the tooth is prepared to receive a crown and an impression is taken of this preparation. A temporary crown is then made for you to function with as your crown is being made in a dental lab.
- Once back from the lab, the crown is then cemented or bonded into your mouth during the second appointment allowing you to regain function on that particular tooth.
Extractions (Tooth removal):
- In some teeth which have extensive decay or have broken or cracked in such an extreme manner, extraction may be considered the best, or at least a reasonable, solution.
- Also in situations where significant bone damage has occurred as a result of periodontal (gum) disease and a tooth has become excessively mobile, extraction of the tooth may be the only option.
- Teeth which are malpositioned, such as wisdom teeth, may be candidates for extraction. Also, in some cases, teeth may need to be extracted due to their position for orthodontic reasons.
- In most cases, the removal of teeth is uneventful and can be completed in our office.
Replacing missing teeth:
- Bridges
- A similar procedure to a crown, a bridge is often indicated when a tooth is lost. Crowns are prepared on the teeth next to the space left by the missing tooth.
- The lab then makes the bridge with consists of crowns next to the space with the false porcelain tooth is fused in the middle.
- The bridge is then cemented or bonded in place, just like a crown.
- Implants
- Implants restore missing teeth when modifying teeth adjacent to the missing tooth space is not indicated or if last tooth in the jaw is lost and there is nothing to "bridge" against.
- The implant itself is placed in our office
- Following a healing phase, the implant is restored using a traditional crown procedure.
- Implants can also be used to stabilize dentures.
Dentures and Partials:
- When many or all teeth are lost, removable appliances such as dentures and partials can help restore chewing and phonetical function.
- Several appointments are usually indicated allowing for precision in bite and aesthetics.
Root Canal Therapy:
- In most cases when a tooth becomes infected or extensively decayed, root canal therapy can save the tooth from being lost.
- Most root canal procedures are completed in one or two appointments depending on the condition of the tooth.
- Once root canal therapy is finished, a permanent filling and crown are often indicated to additionally strengthen remaining tooth structure.
Cleanings:
- Our hygienists are skilled at providing comprehensive dental cleanings.
- During each cleaning visit, they will inform you on the status of your dental health and provide ways to improve your home care when necessary.
- Most cleaning appointments are completed within an hour.
Fillings:
- When decay is present in teeth, a filling can help strengthen the weakened tooth structure
- Both tooth-colored (composite) and silver (amalgam) fillings are used in our office (although most prefer tooth-colored fillings)
